QuaTIS Technical InformationThe technological development of QuaTIS was based in modern technologies and current industrial standards. Its 3-tier architecture enables flexibility and extensive scalability to meet increasing requirements and safeguard your investment. For example, the system can be implemented with just one or two servers and later expanded to clusters and server farms as your business grows.
QuaTIS is fully implemented in Java (J2EE 2.0) and keeps all business processes in Enterprise Java Beans. QuaTIS runs on Linux combined with MySQL, the JBoss J2EE application server and the Tomcat JSP Engine. Tests with Microsoft Windows® and commercial UNIX operating systems have also been passed successfully. QuaTIS was developed similarly to J2EE and the ANSI-SQL 92 standard with encapsulation of the interface between database system and application server. These elements allow commercial products such as IBM Websphere® or Oracle® to be used with few modifications. Two front-end systems are available. A Java-Application client can be used provided that it has a full range of functionality for usage within the Internet. VPNs with proper bandwidth and a Web-Client with 70% functionality range (due to safety and compatibility concerns) provide a second option. Equipped with its own authentication and access privilege system, QuaTIS provides the option of being combined with additional security systems like SecurID® or Kerberos. Base interfaces are also available to import XML formatted data from ERP and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). A base interface has to be configured by a configuration file and may also require the development of an XML?Scheme due to the special ERP?System or LIMS, their individual configuration and the requirements of the project you want to support with QuaTIS. The data compiled in QuaTIS can be exported into XML, Microsoft Excel® and CSV?Format. QuaTIS system requirements
